Noticing that our private cellar bottle stock of sour ale was fast dwindling, we decided to blend a very small batch from five of our finest barrels to produce this, No. 5 in our Barrel-Aged Series. Brewery release only. 60 cases shared. 27 hoarded.
This beer consists of: 37% Ale aged in Cabernet Savignon barrels, 25% Ale aged in Chardonnay barrels, 21% Ale aged in Port barrels and 17% Ale aged in Zinfandel barrels. It measures at 9.91% ABV and will be sold in single 12 oz. single bottles.
“Quinquepartite” translates to “divided into or composed of five parts.” It is slightly less saucy than the name, “Dupuceleuse,” chosen for #4 in the set.

Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a cloudy copper with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong funk and sour fruit, oak. Thin mouthfeel with tart cherry and light lactic acid, oak, easy to drink, very good.

Pours cloudy dark amber with a medium sized frothy off-white head and some lacing. Aroma is tart fruit, barnyard, woody and vinegar. The taste is tart, ripe fruit, woody, vinous, cherries, acidic with a dry finish
Wow, my last rating of 2013. I’ll sip this one and ring in the new year!

12 oz. bottle, sent from aplusbreaks (thanks a lot, Austin), pours a cloudy, murky rusted red with a small beige head. Nose is barrel heavy, with loads of red wine, white wine, port, and sour berries Flavour is very complex, characterized by pronounced dryness and wildness, with loads of dry red and white wine barrels above all; there's a faint nail polish quality too that's not necessarily bad, with medium tartness. Very complex and well-designed blend here. Excellent.

Hazy amber beer, little white head. Light sour nose with lactose. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Mildly sour. A little creamy white wine turning mildly sour. Not really getting any Port wine which is a pity. But this is a nice white wine barrel sour.
