Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Ruby-brown pour, no head. Mild dark malt nose, some sugar. Interesting flavor, a bit of band-aid, light roast and smoke, some dough. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Messy malt finish, more band-aid and also artificial ham. Hints of hops hit the throat in the end. A little weird, but OK.

Spoons Fest! Not a fest beer though. Looks like this might be a special for Crosse Keys in Gracechurch St, London. Lightly hazy dark red-brown beer. Residual white head. Light dry palate. Sourish orange and apples with a trace of sweet pear leading to an overall sweetish conconction dominated some subservient dry malt. Rum? Maybe a drop but it’s hard to call it for sure. Interesting.
