Poured from a 500 ml, 2021 vintage bottle. Aroma is chai forward with lots of spice notes. Lighter coffee notes. Moderate notes of chocolate, caramel and roast. Hints of honey, lactose and toffee. Light notes of bourbon and alcohol with hints of oak. Pours jet black with dark brown hues on the edges with a medium large, thick, creamy, mocha head that recedes slowly to a small creamy film that lingers. Moderate lacing and long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with lots of chocolate and caramel with lighter notes of roast, honey and toffee. Medium low bitterness and moderate alcohol warmth. Fairly strong chai notes with much lighter coffee and lactose notes. Medium light alcohol notes, light bourbon and faint oak notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid eclipse. The chai spice character is very prevalent in the aroma and flavor. Coffee is rather minimal with balanced lactose notes. Standard eclipse malt and barrel profile.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is cinnamon, ginger, chocolate, toffee, vanilla, coconut, taste is similar, treacle, the spice is a little cloying.

Bottle to tulip glass. Pours a very deep brown with light brown head that retains well. Aroma and flavor mostly show chocolate, coffee and the barrel. Well rounded mouthfeel with the lactose making this a smooth drinker. I don't really get anything from the chai spice - but overall this is a very solid addition to the Eclipse family as the barrel and lactose round it out nicely.
