The scene was set. Burning Sky would make the trip to the Highlands, brew a beer, eat some food, then we’d walk the first two days of the Cape Wrath trail. As a result of virus lockdown, what you’re holding is Plan B. A virtual collaboration. The same recipe, brewed in two breweries on two farms, socially distanced by precisely 632 miles.
(For the avoidance of doubt, it’s spelt ‘lager’)

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours every so slightly hazy gold with an orangey streak and frothy white head. The aroma is cereal, toasty grain, doughy bread, biscuit, hay and some underlying honey sweetness. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, cereal, toasty grain, honey drizzle, biscuit, grass, some spice, slightly floral and hearty bread with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Strikes a nice balance. Flavourful and moreish.
