Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours jet black with with a thick, tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, big deep coffee character, coffee with cream, liquorice, burnt toast, coffee cake, caramel, milky, fruit cake, eccles cake and light spice. The taste is dry, rich roasted malt, some bitterness, slick, bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, creamy, coffee grounds, caramel drizzle, toffee, coffee cake, peppery spice, light char and a touch of alcohol. Finish is dryer, bitter - sweet. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Rich and flavourful. Neither too sweet or bitter. Works well.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown to black with a tan head. Nose - bubble gum and banana. A lot of wheat characteristics. Taste - caramel, confectionery and coffee. Then it falls back into coffee and caramel. Then the bubble gum returns. Palate - creamy and medium bodied. Overall - very nice indeed. Wonderful balance.
