11/10/2024. Cask at Nottingham Beer & Cider Festival 2024. Pours clear dark amber brown with a small frothy off-white head. Good pour. Aroma is hoppy, malty, touch spiced, nutty, caramel, bread, nutmeg. Moderate sweetness, bitterness and body. Average to soft carbonation. Light drying finish. Appreciated this more than most it seems.

Clear nutty color with a fine off white head. Good lacing. Looks good. Nutty and toffee in the aroma. Fine intensity. Medium body and a soft carbonation level. Tad sweet. Nutty, toffee and mild fruity flavor. An unusual fine and tasty cask bitter! Well done and proper served.

5th July 2015: 500ml bottle conditioned, BBD 13st Dec 2015. Poured slowly into an Abbot Ale badged pint tankard. Murky reddy brown body, huge tanned foaming head. Malts and yeast in the nose with a mild chocolate trace or two. Taste is more bitter than the smell indicated with a robustness in the body, slight chocolate flavouring within the taste also: dark bitter chocolate though. Highly carbonated, it’s a lively number this here Postmistress.

Cask @ Albion Ale House, Conwy. Clear mid-brown with a small creamy head. Full-bodied with chocolate, grain and a sweetness - with the former of these apparent in the nose. There’s a lingering malt in the palate.

Cask. Ambery golden colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel, some sweet malts, grains as well as some grassy and herbal notes. Flavour is bready, grainy and some slight floral and grassy hops to it. A bit watery and thin, but therwise it has the elements for a good bitter.
