Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: nice roast, cocoa powder, lots of coffee, malty, bit dusty sugary touch, caramel notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, very malty, some coffee, soft acidity, nice roast, an alcohol touch, bitter. Aftertaste: very roasted, lots of coffee, malty, more roast, bit sweet, some caramel.

Pour un Imperial Stout, ce Billiard manque nettement de corps. La texture très fine n'aide pas en cela et il met un certain temps à s'exprimer en bouche avec un départ poussif. Côté arômes, les arômes de chocolat sont intéressants bien qu'un peu poussés par rapport au café mais c'est surtout l'utilisation du Columbus trop importante et donnant un côté fruité qui me dérange davantage (le second houblon étant le Brewers Gold). Visuellement nous sommes sur un noir total sans mousse et une effervescence très peu poussée (EBC de 110). Joli nez sur le café, le chocolat de légères épices et une petite touche fruitée qui ne dérange pas à ce stade. L'attaque est peu intense. On y retrouve les arômes présents au nez sur une texture trop fine. L'intensité va alors crescendo mais l'ensemble manque de punch malgré un alcool à 10,1%. L'ensemble est frais, avec une amertume à 55 d'IBU qui aurait même pu être abaissé mais cet Billiard manque cruellement de profondeur. La complexité n'est pas non plus du voyage. L'arrière-bouche plus porté sur le café est un peu plus intéressante mais insuffisamment ample. Le final, très long est sur une fraîche amertume et un cocktail café, chocolat et agrumes pas désagréable mais manque de caractère. Pour un Imperial Stout, on attend surtout davantage.

Tap @ Uiltje Freshfest. Almost black. Roast, caramel, coffee and licorice in the aroma and flavor. Sweetish, but well balanced.

Well this is a splendid thing. Black stout, thick collar, hefty coffee aroma. Taste is coffee, dark chocolate, toasty malt, maybe a little anise and it feels slightly viscous. Smashing.

Thuis uit een flesje. Pikzwart inderdaad, mooi. Schuim verdwijnt helaas snel, hoewel het wel goed op kwam. In het aroma geroosterde koffiebonen, goed. Ook koffie en wat caramel in de smaak. Verassend zacht voor het percentage. Een heerijk mondgevoel. Uitstekend!

Süffiger, dunkel malzig karamelliger Beginn mit überschaubarer Süße. Viel Schokolade, moderat herb, die Süffigkeit bleibt hoch. Intensiv, komplex, flüssige Schokolade. Langer Nachhall. Lecker! 10/12/12/12/8/12
