12 oz. bottle. Pours brown-black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is similar to nose, with some coffee notes. Finish is dry, roasty, and acidic. Decent.

On tap at Zax. Short lived creamy head, but leaves curtains of lacing. Ruby tinged body, biting roast grains in both aroma and taste. Lingering dark chocolate on the palate. Comes off mild, but this is pretty big.

Bottle from gregwilsonstl, thanks for the opportunity! Solid black color with a smallish off white head. Roasty, earthy, cereal grain, light smoke and burnt sugar weigh heavy on the nose. Thick viscous creamy mouthfeel with a touch if alcohol. Light sweet brown sugary malt flavor with plenty of molasses, roast, and dark caramel. Light dark pitted fruit flavor with hints of ethanol and a light graininess. Medium to full body with a light level of carbonation. Huge big thick stout, I wasn’t quite expecting that from the oatmeal stout on the label, but very nice sipper on this cool fall night.

12 ounce bottle thanks to crajun! Yep, I know who my Secret Santa was! Kickass box! Dark brown, medium sized foamy brown head, decent retention. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate. The taste is roasted malt, chocolate, bitter hops, lactose. Medium bodied, very low carbonation, lingering bitterness.

Bottle at Tortuga Flats. Pitch black with a generous dark tan head that leaves tight lace. Roast nose with chocolate and coffee over toffee and some dark fruit. Medium bitter chocolate with a warming finish. Medium creamy with soft carbonation.

Purchased at the flagship Whole Foods in Austin, TX; enjoyed while binge-watching House of Cards. Appearance is a moderately thick pitch black with a thin white rim. Aroma of light molasses, chocolate, light sweetness. Taste goes down with a light burn, rich chocolate notes, oats, light hops. Overall it's pretty good.

I got this one in a trade with Cyde. 12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/4/2012. Pours pitch black color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense dark khaki head with good retention that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Some nice spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, oatmeal, caramel, molasses, light coffee, dark fruits, roasted malt, and roasted earthiness. Very nice and balanced dark/roasted malt aromas; with good strength. Taste of big chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, molasses, coffee, oatmeal, slight dark fruit, and roasted earthiness. Slight roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, coffee, molasses, and roasted malt on the finish for a bit. Damn nice complexity and balance of roasted/dark malt flavor; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a creamy, slick, and chewy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden at 9.2%, with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial oatmeal stout! Great robustness and balance of flavors; and very smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.
