A fruity and hoppy red ale. We have taken a blend of malts including Pilsner, Vienna, light and dark crystal malts to achieve a deep red colour. For the hoppy character we have used a trio of Brewers Gold, Chinook and Mosaic hops. Kick off your shoes, this one's for dancing.

Bottle from Beer 52. Appearance - deep brown rather than red. Generous off white head. Nose - raspberry jam and earth. Taste - redcurrants this time. Cherry fruitcake. Burnt bread. Palate - mediumbodied. Crunchy texture. Dry roast finish. Overall - nice example of the style.

Bottle bought at Tilquin English Beer Festival 2018. Pours hazy dark red, brownish, with a big, lasting, foamy, off-white head; lots of lacing. Aroma of almond, blood orange, grapefruit, 'frangipane', caramel & cookie dough, red berries, cold tea. It tastes light to medium malty sweet, balancing caramel & red fruits, and light to medium hoppy bitter, herbal & grassy; some almond in the back. Dry, herbal hoppy finish, lingering caramel & dough, bit earthy. Medium body, slick/'fluffy' texture, dough-like, soft carbonation. Good one, very drinkable.

330ml bottle. Clear, brown-ish ruby colour with small to average, frothy, to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and citrusy, slightly tropical fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of mandarine and orange, a touch of mango and redcurrant. Taste is minimally nutty, mellow malty with a touch of peanut pellicle, dry, fruity hoppy, slightly citrusy and zesty, hints of mandarine and orange, an underlying touch of burnt sugar.

Bottle from Better Foods, Bristol. Chestnut in colour, with a slight hazy and frothy, off-white, head that left plenty of lacing down the glass. Aroma of red berries, caramel, toasty malts and a touch of citrus hop. Flavour had rich malts, more sweet fruits and a hint of earthiness, before a moderately dry finish. Enjoyable.

Draft sample @ Tilquin English Beerfest 2018. Cuivrée-ambrée, col épais crémeux beige. Arôme au nez assez belge relevé par des effluves d'épicé et un malté généreux rendant des notes de grillé - cristal marqué, le tout sur des notes houblonnées assez classique US - agrumes. Palais est malté, bien pâle avec une petite rondeur et croquant de biscuité. Houblonné amérisant bien en balance apportant une bonne dose de fruité agrumes avec un fini restant plus dans une inspiration belge.

Clear amber to brown beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty, grains, more malts, some banana, little floral, soapy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty, grains, caramel touch, soft bitterness, hoppy. Aftertaste: little metallic, malty, some more caramel.
