A fruity and hoppy red ale. We have taken a blend of malts including Pilsner, Vienna, light and dark crystal malts to achieve a deep red colour. For the hoppy character we have used a trio of Brewers Gold, Chinook and Mosaic hops. Kick off your shoes, this one's for dancing.

Bottle at L42. It pours clear deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is toasted brown sugar, treacle, oily, dried fruits, resin, earth and wood. The taste is dry, bitter, resin, earthy roast, toasty, wood, leather, soapy citrus and coffee grounds with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Lacks clarity imo. Fair.

Keg tap at the Old Bicycle Shop, Cambridge. Purplish brown, translucent with a thin creamy head. Oak chips and a touch of chestnut in the modest aroma. Sweet, sweet taste with a lovely bitter hop in the finish. Root beer mingles with a more medical note in the aftertaste. Heavily carbonated but not overly so. A cracker.

Bottle from Inn At Home, Guildford. Sweet floral aroma - blossoms. Dark chestnut, with a ruby tint. Good thick beige head. L bitter. A sourness that grows in strength. Fruit, berries, herbs. Some sugary traces. Light bodied. Watery, with some spiciness to it. Lively carbonation. Abrupt finish. Never in your face, which in this case I’d say is a strength and not a weakness. Refreshing. A nice bite to it.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Clapton Craft. Pours a compelling, deep and clear amber with a creamy, khaki head. Decent aroma, with some spicy grains, pine, lightly toasted bread, some aged citrus peel. Light to medium sweet flavour with moderate piney bitterness, some ripe and dried berries, cranberry, toasted grains. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with soft piney resin, some grassy bitterness along with the pine, more grainy bread, dried berries, leather, faint toasted caramel. Not bad overall.
