100cl PET as Lāčplēša Nefiltrētais Kvass from Rimi, Riga. Pours muddy brown without much head to speak of. Bready and malty with notes of caramel and molasses. Sweet and bready, but quite drinkable.

Rating Lacplesis Kvass nefiltrets. Rerate based on checklist, old score - 6/4/6/3/4 = 3,3 Smell- medium strong, malt, bread. Foam- thin, soft,malt, acidic tones, weak sweetness and bread. Head is medium, medium dark brown, white color. Appearance- simple plastic bottle, generic cap, hazy dark brown color, medium carbonation. From - pint glass Taste- caramel, malt, acidic tones, bread, some sweetness, to the medium side sweetness. Quite drinkable kvass bit too sweet.

Plastic bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Murky brown. Aroma of caramel, rye bread, nuts, citric acid. Sweet flavor with caramel, rye bread, citric acid. Light-bodied.

Draught @ Random Bar, Riga, Latvia.Unclear medium to dark brown colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy brown sugar, bread - sweet rye bread. Flavour is heavy sweet with a long duration, brown sugar, caramel, roasted notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120729]

Draught at random nameless bar, Riga. Hazy dark brown, creamy head. Sweet and raisiny. Medium bodied with soft mouthfeel. Date and sugar together with rye bread. No bitterness. Better than average commercial kvass.
