RBSG Average-sized off-white head. Chocolate and molasses aroma followed by a lightly sweet, lightly acidic flavor. Dry finish. Needs more maltiness to round this one out.

Dark brown body, medium tan head. Cocoa and roasted malt aroma. What struck me instantly was the uncharacteristic carbonation and ale-like feel of the body, which became even more pronounced as the porter-like chocolate and roasted malt flavors developed. No prune, raisin, or caramel typical of the style. A touch sweet in the finish. This was basically a porter in disguise, and a rather mediocre one at that. Is this really a lager?
