Short-lived white head over hazy orange-ochre beer. Sourish nose, not without some acetic acid, but also white wine, even as a pourriture noble Sauternes. Lactic acid, sultanas; alcohol & fusels. Nice mix of flavours; white sweet Bordeaux wine, nutmeg, herbs, lactic acid, lemon, sultanas, concentrated white grapes. Very complex. Sticky, oily, dense. Medium carbonation. Long-lasting flavours. Impressive beer; superb integration of different surprising flavours, not clashing but blending.

Bottle. Barrique 134. 2018 Reserva. Pours cloudy Golden orange with a full frothy White head and lacings. Deep layer of sweet calvados, Wood, vanilla, peach and candied sugar. Vinous and slick mouthfeel. Slight bretty tartness. Warming alkohol. Sipper.

Bottle, barrique no 134. Color: Clear golden to orange amber, thin white head. Aroma: Sweetish, vinuous, red wine, dried stone fruit. Taste: A lot of red wine. Very vinuous. Over moderate tart. Some oak wood. Balsamico vinegar, apple vinegar. Some candied apple. Almost nothing left of the nice complexity and balance of an original Stille Nacht but a LOT more expensive. Better buy around 10 original Stille Nacht than 1 Reserva! I don't understand.. Why...? Good barrel ageing is an art. This one isn't. I love Dolle Brouwers for their originals but this BA definitely is a shame... Overall it's not that bad taste if you're a red wine lover but why ruïn a nice and complex beer with bad, by far overwhelming, barrel ageing? (Rating in comparison with original Stille Nacht)
