Cask, handpull at Cloisters, Edinburgh. It pours black with a thick, foamy light tan head. The aroma is sweet, milk chocolate/carob vibes, dark fruits, horlicks, bit of red cola and wood. The taste is initially smooth, bitter - sweet, hard roasted malts, burnt toast, a bit spice, earth, milk chocolate / cacao nibs / carob chips is the dominant profile, salty, savoury and a bit of dark fruit. Finish is a drying burnt toast and warming one. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Interesting stuff for sure. Has a kind of earthy burnt note after a while, which lowers the drinkability. Fun stuff anyhow.
