500 ml bottle. Almost clear golden body with a big white head. Moderate malty aroma with just a hint of yeast and banana as normally will be expected from a hefeweizen. Flavor is light and refreshing with malt and actually more wheat flavor than anticipated form aroma, also a hint of banana. A bit thin body but just enough for the 3 point at my score. As a beer from Grans in general this is more than decent, a nice surprise. As a wheat beer something is missing, I didn’t detect any obvious faults from my bottle, but it might have been filtered too much and removed all the good stuff from a wheat beer. It even seems to lack the expected amount of yeast sediments from the bottle.

Almost completely clear light golden with a small white head. Looks like a pale lager. Some wheat and banana in the aroma, also a hint of alcohol. Sweet and a bit watery. Light body. Alomst fizzy and certainly not I would call a weissbeer, but it’s drinkable. Ok, but not I beer I would buy again. 50cl bottle (shared by Arve - Thanks!).

500 ml bottle, from REMA 1000. ABV is 4.7%. Clear golden colour, large and lasting white head. Aroma of pale unhopped wort and cooked vegetables, followed by notes of cloves and hints of bananas. Light bodied as expected, but the beer was cold and I was thirsty, so I found the beer quite drinkable. The flavour has moderate cloves and a hint of banana, quite dry. Minimal hops. Can’t detect the normal metallic Grans finish. Fairly decent for a Grans beer.

0.5l bottle. This one pours a blurry golden body with a massive and impressive good-looking dense and gigantic whipped-egg white-looking everlasting and lacing head. I get some wheaty tones in the aroma. It's not as massive as that amazing looking head, but still here. Some light banana, butter, cardboard and yeast in here as well. OK, it looks quite good and it smells quite alright. Could this bee the first good one in the series? Let's try: Oh, no.. Most definitely not! Feels like I'm drinking liquid cardboard. Really papery and grainy with a astringent mouthfeel that's more mouthdrying than sucking on a cotton stick. Unfortunately a long way before I can call this good - or I can even go so far and say drinkable? No thanks Grans. Almost, but still so far away. 22.05.2012
