Bottle from Beers of Europe, online. Another gusher from 8 Sail with 95% head - needed 3 glasses to contain it! Once settled it turned out to be a murky amber with off-white scummy head. Aroma is grainy with citrus peel, caramel and grassy notes. Taste is grainy with some caramel, citrus zest, stone fruits, nice bitter kick. Medium bodied. Quite nice.

On cask at 8 Sail Brewery Tap in Heckington - cloudy amber body, heavy off white top. Grainy bitter, rather lifeless, caramel notes at the end.

Rocky off white head left a frothy cover on an unclear amber body. Bitter & caramel aroma. Medium bodied, soft & lifeless with a tingle on the back. Very lacking in body. Bitter pithy citrus, light English hops & stone fruit tastes with a long tangy finish. It's just ok - tastes a bit like a Home Brew TBH. I'd like to try on cask.

24/10/2018. Cask at the 41st Norwich Beer Festival. Pours clear bright dark gold with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of hops, sweet malt, caramel, flowers and fruit. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Pretty good.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - amber with a neat fluffy head. Nose - light orange and biscuit. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - not exciting but fairly drinkable. A solid citizen.

Cask at the Maidenhead Beer Festival, July 2016. A pale amber pour with a loose white head; sweet floral aroma with some Kentish hops; soft and sweet in the mouth with a barleysugar taste; then drier with a light touch of warming spice betore a lingering barleysugar finish.

30th July 2014, 500ml bottle conditioned: BBD in two days. Poured carefully into a UK pint sleeve at home. No sediment left the bottle so I got an almost clear old gold/tangerine bodied beer, the head a white uneven blanket. A yeasty/slight off aroma and taste from my bottle, some hops coming through, initially this tastes and smells like it might be infected or a little past it’s best. It calms down a little as I let it settle a while in the glass and it became hoppier and more bitter with each mouthful: the beer grew on me as the hops kicked in after what I thought might be an off bottle. In the end it scores OK, but I suggest anyone else drinks it fresher than my ’just before’ it’s BBD.

26th April 2014
Hazy gold - amber beer, tidy pale cream coloured head. Palate is softish and airy. Very modest carbonation. Smooth malt, light cream and a touch of caramel. Mild orangey dried fruits. Whisper of spice. Smooth dry finish. Mild marmalade bitter linger. Smooth and well integrated.
