Can at the house in Jackson - picked up from the local Whole Foods. Pours black-brown with a big, fluffy khaki head. Medium sweet flavour with Trudy toasted malts, bittersweet cocoa, vanilla beans, earthy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Decent balance to finish, some earthy-ashy bitterness, more rich vanilla notes, cocoa. Overall, quite enjoyable.

Deep dark brown coloured body with only a thin, single centimetre tall just off-white head that fades quickly and leaves just about nothing on top. Aroma of light molasses, some toasted malt notes, a bit of oats and wheat with some vanilla here and a dash of lactose, but not much here in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Relatively subdued malt flavours show strongest with some toasted malts, grainy, slightly earthy and nutty flavours here as well, but then some sweetness comes to the rescue with a bit of vanillas, cream and lactose as well, but drinkable and easy. Aftertaste shows some deeper bitterness from the malts with a cereal and bready finish and a bit of sweetness, but pretty soft throughout. Overall, a decent enough beer, but lacking in larger, deeper flavours with only some lactose, cream, caster sugar and light vanilla rescuing this from the nutty, earthy and slightly rustic malts that are strongest throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Glacier National Park in Kalispell, Montana in fall 2021 by my Mom, brought back and sampled with me in July 2022 - Thanks Mom!
