Bottle at home, köszi Tomi! Pours copper with a long lasting, off-whtie head. Nose is sweet notes of malts, nuts, dried fruits, a touch of booze and some bitter hops to balance them. Nicel rounded, pretty pleasant. Tastewise it's not that refined, the malty notes are not as layered as in the aroma and there's a sharp bitterness in there too that's not quite pleasant. All in all still a drinkable brew tho.

Bottle at home. Pours like blood, smells of dead human sacrifices from the altar, could enjoy this from the pinnacle to the pit. (Toffee, caramel, floral)

Yellow head, gone in seconds, deep chestnut coloured beer; Rich, vinous nose, dark malts, dark fruit. Roasted malts, fusels, lending it some Barley Wine features. Ripe banana, bitterish hops. Quite slick, even sticky; medium bodied, but giving a better bodied impression. Much better than the music, it would seem...

Bottle 33 cl thanks to _angst_ (and his brother). Sampled on January 17, 2015. BB 18/11/2015. Also marked 09:23 001264.Clear dark brown color, smallish brown head. Alcohol, caramel, malty sweet, a bit sugary, leafy herbs I can’t put my finger on scent. Bitter, thin, a bit malty taste. Slight metallic and rather bitter aftertaste. To the thin side mouthfeel, fairly high a bit harsh bitterness. Spicy tingly feeling on the tongue. Feels a bit unbalanced.

Bottle courtesy of my brother. Pours hazy reddish brown with a small goldenish beige head that leaves lots of trace on the glass. Smell is malty with biscuits, caramel, toffee, moist soil, moist hay, prunes, pears, grapefruit, lemon balm and orange zest. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter with dark bread, caramel, grapefruit juice, moist grass, pine needles, pineapple, mango, moist soil, lemon balm, orange zest and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is soft, round, astringent and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with dark bread, caramel, toffee, grapefruit, grass, pine, resinous wood, mango, orange zest and lemon zest. Nice toffee malts and nice modern fruity hops in the taste. Bit unbalanced (would have liked more aroma and less buttering hops) and all in all a very untraditional scotch ale. Drinks good though... --- Beer merged from original tick of Ghost Grale on 17 Jan 2015 at 16:05 - Score: 7. Original review text: Nice heavily US-hopped Scotch Ale. 3,7.

Bottle. Almost opaque, very dark brown liquid with reddish hue and medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, toffee, pumpernickel, dried fruit, fruity yeast esters, pine and light ash. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of toffee, raw sugar, citrus, dried fruit and pine. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty hoppy for a scotch ale but a nice beer. Great band too.
