A massive, roasted, malt-forward American Trappist take on the Anglo-Russo Imperial Stout tradition. Luxuriantly frothy foam, waves of coffee, chocolate and caramel sensations, a generous blend of dark fruit flavors. Intense and robust.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: dark brown color close to black color with a one and a half fingers of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave light lace.
Aroma: big roasted dark malts, some coffee and smoke, some dark fruits and a good dose of milk chocolate
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas - roasty and sweet, light aftertaste of coffee, roasty tones, and chocolate
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper, some smoothness on the tongue, finishes dark fruity and milk chocolatey smooth
Overall: a very nicely done imperial stout I wish I could get again.

Bitter AF. Strong roasty notes, perhaps a little Smokey also. This one is just a little too extreme for me.

Lcbo Xmas gift pack. Jet black pour, large beige head. Sweet roasty aroma, light fruit, slightly fruity soy notes, hints of coffee, and smoke. Full mouth feel, soft, yet full carb. Finish is medium bitter with some more fruity roast, finishes hoppy, nice resinous notes.

Bottle with cork 0,75ltr: Opaque black colored brew with an medium dry bitter taste and little bit of burn in the mouth. Hints of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and dried fruit. Good Imperial Stout but maybe with an higher ABV it will be legendary.

Spencer Trappist Imperial Stout, Fläschchen von Getränke Dietrich, Helmbrechts. - Pechschwarz, undurchsichtig, kurzlebiger brauner Schaum. 330ml bottle bought from Beers of Europe about a year ago. The brewery sadly has done in that time. The beer is dark brown and opaque with a small layer of tan head. Molasses, salted caramel, fudge, yeast extract in the aroma. Sweet taste, lots more molasses, a little bit peppery with considerable hop bitterness in the finish. Medium to thick body, oily, soft to medium carbonation. A real treat.
