Traditional english bitter with a delicate balance of hops, caramel malts and yeast esters. Interlude of the slightly outlandish bitterness of Goldings and Galaxy hops is followed by a full bodied caramel backbone matching the fruitiness of english style yeast.

500ml bottle shared by Martinsh at the Latvia Day Tasting in Crewe on 18th November 2023. Didn't expect an English style 'Best Bitter' today. This was really interesting and I enjoyed it. Slight haze to the light mahogany body, wisp for a head. Malty front with a caramel sweetness tempered with a subtle hop bitterness, nice.

Bottle ordered from Craft Beer Station, Northampton – drank (shared) at Latvian Independence Day celebration at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a hazy deep chestnut with minimal off-white head. Not much of an aroma – merely some general maltiness. Malts a bit more pronounced in the mouth, where there are also some hints of traditional hops and underlying caramel. Finish is slightly fruity. A reasonable approximation of an English bitter.

0,5 bottle at Two More Beers with Snegurochka 221219. One of 12+ bottled Labietis beers for selection. Impressive! Slightly hazy dark orange or apricot body with a tall lightly off-white head that leaves quite beautiful lacing. Looks good in the glass! Aroma and taste is as expected if you expected a Labietis take on an the English bitter: Smooth caramel malts combined with the bitterness and zest of fruity hops. Notes of yeast as well. Quite long taste, helped along by a very decent mouthfeel. Perhaps packs more of a bit more of a punch than your average bitter but still true to the tradition. A pleasurable and very drinkable brew that makes the most out of its relatively low alcohol content. Labietis - once again - leaves you satisfied.
