On tap at PIB, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of cognac, roasted malt, and liqueur coated chocolate. Flavour is even more complex, with notes of cognac, cherries, and chocolate. The barrel aging certainly has done this wonders, making it less sludgy and more drinkable. Much improved from the base beer.

On tap at ØlFestival 2012. Looking quite nice this one, with it’s almost black body and tan head. Nice aroma too, licorice, roasted malts, some alcohol and a touch of the cognac. Lacking a bit on complexity in both aroma and flavor I think. The flavor is quite sweet, with roasted malts, coffee, alcohol and some cognac. Full-bodied, warming and smooth on the palate, with some roasted kind of bitterness in the end. A bit warm and simple maybe, but a fine beer anyway. 120510
