Draft. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, alcohol, and wood, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Black colour. Not much aroma. Roasted and salty flavour. Very small brown head. A little too roasted, but OK. Sweet finish.

On tap. Pours a pitch black with a small beige head. Sweet roasty nose with a little wood character and booze but very subdued Cognac. Solid body, lowish carbonation, alcohol heat - boozy actually, sweet roast. The Cognac character comes late. Pleasant. 100512

2012-05-11, draught at Danske Ølentusiasters Ølfestival 2012, Copenhagen, 7-4-8-4-16=39
Black color. Aroma of roasted malt and some cardboard. Despite the unimpressive aroma, the mouthfeel is very smooth, round, quite sweet, good chocolate flavor, good balance, and no cognac.
2012-03-23, on tap directly at the brewery; thanks guys! 7-5-7-3-14=36
Black color, with a generous compact and persistent beige head. At first, the aroma strikes for the strong presence of apples and apple skins; then followed by roasted malts, and booze. Good body strength, the mouthfeel is even a bit oily; strong flavor of dark chocolate and roasted malt, a bit salty, with a touch of liquorice; but also an evident boozy character; the alcohol has an obvious impact on the mouthfeel, and contributes with the high bitterness to a piquant final, that was even astringent at first impression.
Boozy, but without the expected characteristics from Jack Daniels, the light vanilla feeling seems to come more from the chocolatey malts than from the bourbon. Rough but appreciated (actually, the first beer in 2 months! It ought to be appreciated)
