On tap at The Local Taphouse. Pours a light color, but I can’t tell which one because of the light. Weak nose, but a tasty sweet and light body. Dry finish. Feels well seasonable.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma has notes of fruits, yeast, malt, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, yeast, fruits, and hay, leading to a dry spicy finish. The body is light.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of bluebetty. Pours golden with a slight haze and a lacing off-white head. Overripe fruit in the nose with a spicy and slightly yeasty edge. Rich body, heavy on the yeasty fruitiness. Has a dry and almost vinous touch - like a dry Chardonnay. Ends dry if not exactly hoppy. Good one. 190412

From a 330 ml bottle on 11/3/2011. Pours a slightly cloudy golden colour with a substantial head. Has a very pleasant sweet floral, fruity aroma with that distinctive belgian yeast note. The flavours include sweet citrus fruits (particularly mandarin), sweet belgian malt, spices and a touch of pepper at the end. This is an unusal and refreshing take on a summer ale (the use of the word ’unorthodox’ on the packaging is definitely appropriate), though you’d need to be careful about quaffing more than one, given its well hidden strength. Another fine beer from Murrays.

Pours amber with a large, lasting, creamy white head and lovely lacing.Nose is very fruity, lots of passionfruit, apples and pears. Very sweet smelling. Next some doughy yeast shows through alongside soft spicy phenols. Very nice!Similarly light flavours. And quite sweet (indicative of the use of candi sugar?). Lots of sweet malt, not so much in the way of fruit. Alcohol and high carbonation dries out the finish somewhat. I’m not sure if it’s due to high alpha bittering hops or the alcohol but the finish does feel quite sharp, almost metallic. Mind you, this fades as it warms up.

Bottle. Orange with an inch of white head that fades to a coat. Quite low bead. Aroma of mandarins, light dough, white pepper. There’s fruit in the taste but there’s more spice - some coriander and cloves as well as the pepper - than suggested by the aroma and the dry finish rushes right up. Alcohol is indeed dangerously well-hidden. Deep and meaningful is neither promised nor delivered: it’s just fun.
