Dubbel Down is a dark brown Belgian Dubbel with an appealing tan lace. This beer has sweet sugary aromas with hints of dark fruit and spice. Prominent clove and nutmeg flavors intermix with toasted maple syrup and toffee sweetness, creating an appealing complexity on the palate. The bitter finish is composed of a lingering spiciness with subtle warming.

Crowler from the brewery. Pours a brown amber with an off-white head. Raisin, nutty aroma. Flavor of grapes, green and red, some maltiness and earthy nuttiness. A pretty good dubbel.

Draft at the brewpub, Bellaire. Hazy dark orange-brown body, cola-like; medium clumping light beige head. Spicy, toasty nose with notes of peachskin. Body lighter than expected, spicy, with light banana and clove esters and lots of toast, caramels, and toffee. Dry and rather light for the style.
