This Pale Ale is often considered an IPA, though the use of rye malt would suggest otherwise. Rye malt adds a spicy characteristic, with a somewhat dry finish that balances very well with the hop bitterness and citrus flavors.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear red amber with a near white head that dissipated slowly to the edges and laced. Aroma had a light pine note accompanied by a slight citrus note but had quite a strong grain backing. Flavor was similar with a strong grain note with a backing pine note and just a hint of citrus. I wish the rye would have come through more.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours extremely hazy orange gold with a small white head. Aroma is of spicy hops and a bit of citrus. Flavor combination turns out something very much like a Belgian yeast strain, with a strong clove sensation on top of the spicy and citrusy hops and some very toasty biscuits. Unexpected but very nice flavors.
