50cl bottle from Budgens, Belsize Park. A murky looking mid-brown pour with a billowing beige head, and an attracive golden glow when held to the light; a pleasant malty taste with a hint of chocolate malt; and a gentle, prickly, bitterness to finish. Very much let down by the appearance.

Bottle at a ChrisO tasting - London. Pours clear, light brown with a fine, white film head. Dark bread in the nose with very faint cocoa notes. Light sweet flavor with more dark bread, some light earth, dark sugars. Light of body and fine of carbonation. Mild sweetness to finish with mellow chocolate, some toast. A bit bland but not offensive.
