Wells Bowman Stout (abv: 5.2%) was first brewed in the late 19th Century as Wells Family Stout. The Bowman name was introduced in the 1950's and since then the brand has been subtly altered to compliment the palate of today's stout drinker. It is brewed to a style and recipe that dates back to the 1700s.

50 cl bottle, bottled 28.7.2011, BBE 28.7.2011
Rather light aroma with peat, roasted malt. Hints of sourness too. Flavour has roasted malt and coffee and hints of chocolate. Too thin body and too light palate. Also some harsh bitterness start to appear at the middle of the pint.
