FES mix blended with local sorghum lager. Unlike the Nigerian, it contains no wheat and has a higher proportion of roast barley.

33cl bottle, available all over Ghana. pours dark brown, thick light tan head. aroma, sour lactose notes, caramel malts, flavors, malty, touch of roast, lingering sorghum adding a lingering lactose sourness, touch of bitter chocolate/caramel with hints of roast. Nice thick palate. Warming abv and definitely interesting touch of sorghum. This is hands down the best beer you can get in Ghana. Sadly many places have poor refrigeration and the beer will usually not be served properly, but when this beer is stored and served the way it should be, it’s one enjoyable and interesting stout.

Bottled 330ml. -Pitch black coloured, brown head, lactic nose. Roasted malt, sorghumy and coffee taste with quite strong licorice presence. Pleasant bitterish finish. Easy drinkable despite high ABV and for sure the best beer from Ghana.

Canned. Very dark ambery brown colour, mediumsized brown foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, mild liquorice as well as some slight roasted notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with some cardboardy and rubbery notes.

Can (PBF, BB 12/2009). Opaque brown color, small creamy beige head. Light toasted barley aroma with notes of cardboard. Smooth mouthfeel. Tobacco, coffee, licorice and salt. There is some disturbing cardboard, but otherwise very tasty FES.

Kind of a murky dark brown. The aroma mixes hop, roasty, light molasses. Full rich bitterness, with hints of sorghum, rich molasses and light roast. Fun.

Bottled at Fiesta Royale Hotel, Accra (Ghana version). Nearly intransparently black, dense beige head. Lemony licoric aroma. Tarry and compact with a lactic tartness and full body. Salt and tobacco dominate the finish. Rough around edges, but potent and flavourful.
