With S:t Eriks Porter Jessica Heidrich returns to the heart of one of the brewery’s traditions. S:t Eriks Porter beer was first brewed back in the 1870s and now gets a modern successor. The new recipe is inspired by the more contemporary Swedish style with a round and mellow character. Brewed with a blend of chocolate, caramel and caramunich malts and topped with classic English Fuggles hops, Jessica has created a great tasting beer and a cornerstone of the S:t Eriks standard range.
Aroma and taste
Roasted, mellow and soft malty aroma. A hint of coffee, rye bread and dark chocolate. Long aftertaste with aromatic but gentle tones of chocolate, malt and coffee.
Serving tip
Best served at 12-15 °. Goes with everything from steak to cake!

Bottle. Frothy off-white good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and light hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter roasted flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate but much too fizzy.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, from Systembolaget, 20121231) The beer poured almost black and clear. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had dark chocolate, roasted malts and hops. Palate was almost full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, sweetness, cocoa, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste had dark chocolate, roasted malts and bitter. A very pleasant and long lasting taste and the aroma wasn’t bad either. Slightly unbalanced: I would have wished for more burnt flavour and less chocolate.

Mahoghnyfärgad, lågt skum. Fin doft av söt mörkt bröd, russin, choklad och kaffe. Smakerna är tunnare i munnen, lätt kropp, måttlig sötma, liten beska. Lättdrucken, välbyggd och god. Kanske lite anonym.

330ml bottle from Systembolaget Kiruna. Fawn-coloured head resting on top of a dark brown coloured body. Chocolate malts to the nose, a bit grainy. Chocolate and coffee flavoured malts, herbal dry and bittersweet. Roasted, fruit-bitter tail. Satisfying without further excitements (hotel room, Kiruna 28.04.2012).
