Zoigl from Teicher, at their Bierstube. Medium sized, snow white, moussey, stable head on a near clear, amber-tinged old golden robe with thin strings of sparkling. Aroma of dry biscuit, thyme, bread crust, field flowers, minerals, unripe peach, dried apple peel, hints of sweat, moist cellar and damp earth. Malty onset, minerally carb, a bit sharp, rounded cereally malts with thinly biscuity core, soon bittered by 'green', very floral, leafy hops with long drying bitterness, while retronasally, a whiff of damp cellar appears, adding complexity in its own particular way. Feels very authentic and 'old', for a Lager - I rarely had Lagers with this kind of finesse and layeredness. Worth the trip all the way to the Oberpfalz!

Two pints at the Zoigl Stub. Deep orange color, hazy, with a low, thick head. Malty, bready, biscuit nose, some honey and orange, melanoidins galore. Somewhat toasty caramel flavor, with some orange and honey, bread and grains. Peppery, lightly bitter finish. Silky and smooth with low carbonation. Great body.

Partyfass thanks to Jens. Cloudy dark golden with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with fresh grain and straw and a touch of herbal hops. Sweetish malty flavour with a light touch of yeasty phenolics. Herbal hops and a quite bitter finish.

1l-bottle at home. Big thanks to bierkoning for that one. Dark blond in the glass, not too zippy, small but creamy head. Starts quite hoppy grasy, notes of hay, some wood. Becomes more and more malty, but still spicy-hoppy. Round finish, very drinkable. Really good!

Tap @ zoiglstube. Orange blonde color, hazy. Lots of orange in the aroma. Initial malt, but after that orange and flowery and earthy hops. Even a bit of mandarin curacao and grass. Lovely!
