Our take on a West Coast IPA. Humboldt has a lean malt character with bright hop aromatics. Hopped with Simcoe, Centennial and Citra. Notes of tropical fruit, dank citrus and pine, the finish is drier than what you would find in a New England IPA.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: bright yellow color with a good transparency about it and finger and a half to two fingers of white foamy head. Once dissipated, there was some light messy clingy lace
Aroma: huge citrusy, danky pine, sweet grassy to subtle grapefruity bitter rind, some melon then a highly clean bready malt base
Flavor: fully bittersweet hop blend and bringing the malts for a stellar balance, no aftertaste
Texture: medium bodied, some kind of sessionability about this, some kind of oily to smoothness rolling over my tongue, finishes oily crisp (is that a thing yet?) And not as "dry" as the brewer says so, just my two cents 🙄
Overall, I say a wonderful West coast styled IPA I would love to have again.
*Also glad I discovered we can put emojis in ratings however only will proceed now with emojis only in new beer reviews.

Draft at Paragon, 1/30/26. Clear gold, white head, moderate lace. Grass, pine, melon. Bright and clean. Lots of flavor. Balanced. Nicely dry. Really quality.

Pour at Shelter dc, clear dark gold with some creamy white head. Nose has a big yeast character, dough, curacao orange. Flavor follows, tinny too, orange, dried grasses, some coriander. Off dry.

Tasting room draught, 2/8/25.
Clear bright golden-maize. Fluffy, small, white head.
Nose is juicy, fruity, soft, lots of eatery yeast and round, juicy grapefruit. White bread and honey supports and keeps it round and soft.
Juicy, fruity, yeasty, big fresh squeezed citrus character with interesting stone fruit and even some light floral notes. Rich and malty yet well attenuated. If this is a WC IPA, then I love WC IPAs...

Pours slightly hazed gold into a willi. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Pine and citrus aromas. Medium bodied with sweet mango and pine upfront turning to lemon pith in the medium length finish.
