For our bière de Noel – a little word play. St. Renna can be read as a single word “strenna” being an Italian word for Christmas gifts donated to family and friends, or as St. Renna (“renna” means reindeer in Italian) suggesting the idea of the drink of the reindeer which are commonly associated with the idea of Yule.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy mahogany with a nice ruby coloured hue and a medium beige head. Sweet aroma of caramel malt and fruit with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Sweet flavour of dark fruit, caramel malt, honey, nutmeg and cinnamon with a mildly sour finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Very well done.

Magnum bottle at IBF 2009, Milan, thanks to all the guys at the stand for bringing this bottle especially for me!
Mahogany color, with beautiful red hue; medium creamy head. Good caramel aroma, good body strength, good caramel flavor; medium sweetness; mature, light subdued spices. Light alcoholic feeling. Well balanced, solid Belgian Strong Ale.
