From the hazelnut capital of the United States, our Hazelnut Brown Ale is a nutty twist on a European brown ale, originally crafted by Rogue Brewmaster John Maier’s good friend and avid home-brewer, Chris Studach. Winner of five Great American Beer Festival medals, this sessionable brew showcases Oregon’s state nut with distinct hazelnut flavors and aromas. This award-winning ale remains a fan favorite all year long.

A brilliant looking brown, with a full light tan head and a deep toffee coloured body. Hazelnuts front and centre in the taste profile. Toffee, butter, plums, cereal, biscuit malt and coconut add fresh additional elements. A really nice blend with a strong nut lead, which I love in a Brown Ale.

It is an original beer, well balanced, good mix between the malt, the nuts, the hop and the bitterness, pleasant in the mouth, 27.10.2016, drinking it at Lausanne, Prélaz.

330ml can. Pours a clear brown with a decent brown head. Aroma is brown ale & mid malts along with strong nuts. Beer is just slightly off dry, smooth & easy to drink with moderate bitterness that sneaks up on you.
With so much hazelnut product being sweet this would be more mainstream if it was a touch sweeter but as is, it is a fine brown ale.

Really great brown ale. Don’t really taste any hazelnut but great falvoe all the same. Can see why it is in the top of this category.
