Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Deep rubyish amber colour with a mediumsized brown head, that vanishes quite quickly. Aroma is dark dry fruits, some sweet malts as well as nuts and some ashes. Flavour is mild roasted malts, some dark dry fruits, mild nuttyness as well as some ashes and mild sugary notes. Gets a bit metallic as it warms up.

Bottle: Very deep amber coloured with ruby spots, small off-white with a little lacework; moderate dryish roasty to dark-malty nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; slight coffeeish traces in the roasty-caramelly finish. Not bad........

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, dark brown colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Roasty malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, leaves and a touch of wet cardboard. Moderately sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Slightly papery roast-malty and leafy taste; moderately dry and roasty bitter finish with a tinge of chocolate and caramel in the lasting aftertaste. Rather a Schwarzbier than a Dunkel. 06.VIII.10

Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Dark red tinged brown pour with a medium, fading light brown head. Aroma was ashtrays, corn, grain. Pretty heavy carbonation. Flavour was malt heavy and pretty uninspiring with a slight metallic edge. Against my better judgement there was something I found vaguely appealing here however. An almost dirty, slutty kind of appeal, that you know you’d feel guilty about the next day.

Bottle. Poured a molasses like color with minimal head. The beer was clearly highly carbonated as it looked more like coca cola than beer. Aroma was dominated by the licorice with an undertone of chocolate. The aroma again reminded me some what of a cola. Flavor was a bit too sweet for me with licorice flavors and malts. An odd beer to say the least.

can from somewhere on mallorca. pours almost pitch black, medium fluffy light brown head. aroma of roasted stuff, eggs, kinda weak aroma, but some good things can be detected. gets only 4 because the aroma is so weak. flavor is roasted grains, faint metal, The kind of sugar-dippers you get with irish coffee, flavor reminds me of guinness. definetly one of the best spanish i’ve tasted. (70 and counting)

30/10 0.33 l can brought from Barcelona by a friend, thanks a lot Mike. It poured very dark brown body with medium sized brownish head. Caramel is dominant in its aroma, with some other spices in the background, like some hops. Flavor was quite pleasant, sweetish with caramel and roasted sugar, full bodied considering the style. Quite carbonated. Longer, sweet but also slightly bitter finish. Very nice and enjoyable beer. A nice surprise indeed.
