Bottle, 5.4%. Strangely vinous aroma. Almost black colour. Small light brown head. The flavour is roasted and dry. Quite clean.

Pours a red-black colour with thin creamy head. Texture is quite thick and silky. Mild flavour, a little bittersweet.

Dark brown. Sugary nose, hinting at molasses and brown sugar. Very sweet palate, with a hollowed-out graininess. Caramelly, a little watery in the finish.

Can, shared by Gr0ve. Pours a clear ruby body with an off-white head. Not too pleasant aroma, quite weak too, with cooked vegetables and caramel. The same goes for the flavor, but there’s some hoppy bitterness too. Thin, sugary body. Quite a contradiction maybe, but that was how it felt. A really boring, and not too good, beer. (080216)

Medium beige head. Deep dark red body. Burnt mealy malts aroma with grassy notes. Light burnt mealy taste with rubbery notes. Dry and sweet. Interesting, but not great. (0.33l bottle from gr0ve.)

33 cL can. Pours deep brown with a huge chocolate brown head. Slight earthy aroma, some notes of roasted malt. Flavour is slight breadish to caramel malty, but not really sweet. Some bitterness breaks the malt flavours before the finish. Sadly the finish holds a cardboardish note which breaks the otherwise nice flavour experience.

Smells a bit like tar. Pours cloudy and dark brown with no head. Roasted malt taste, a little smoky. Dark fruits on the palate.
