Cask @ Commercial Inn, Sowerby Bridge. Golden-yellow with a thin head. Quite strong which affects its pale ale texture, it’s much deeper than expected but there’s still a fruitiness evident.

On gravity at the Volunteer, Bristol. Deep gold with a slight white head. Decent citrus fruit, some solid malts and a dryish finish. Very good.

Cask handpump at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford, Tuesday 25th September 2012 £2.90 for a 5.2% APA was very good. Golden with a filmy white head, citrussy with some cooked preserved lemony flavour. Nicely bitter with a dry edge, sweetness is apparent but quite subtle. Good beer. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5
