Our Donbacher landbier is inspired by the distinctive lagers brewed at most countryside breweries in Franconia. Look for a pale frothy beer with a soft malt character, accentuated by the traditional sauergut process in the brewhouse and Koelschip hopping with Tettnanger. Vegan-friendly.

Can at home Hackney - many thanks to Garrold. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. Straightforward stuff, with white bread, biscuits, a little cereal, soft hay. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Lightly creamy finish, with more pale bread, light doughy biscuits, minimal bitterness. Easygoing and drinkable.

Can, picked up at the brewery. Did 2 pints of this in about 40 minutes on tap, also at the brewery. Pale, honey gold. Light haze. Steady stream of fine bubbles. Compact, white foam stays the course. Nose has white bread. Yeasty sourdough. Soft, floral hop. Touch of herb. Touch of hop spice. Smells fresh and inviting.Taste has well balanced, grainy, honey sweetness, with some herbal spice, and a little yeasty tartness, too. Soft and massaging on the palate. Foamy carbonation. Light to medium body. Light, yeasty, slightly tart floral bitterness to finish. Up there with the best so far, from this brewer.
