Keg @ Common, Manchester. Black with a thin off-white head. Has a full roasted aroma and fairly full taste in this respect. Its milkiness subdues its strength to an extent and is smooth in the palate.

Cask. Gravity dispense. 42nd Steel City Beer Festival. Dark brown. Bubbly, tan head. Nose has earthy coffee bean. Wood ash. Notes of dried vine fruit. Taste is tart and earthy. Some light acidity. Light body. Some astringency. Earthy bitter finish.
