Slightly sweet with a complex malty flavor. The spicy flavor comes from our unique blend of Trappist yeast and Belgian candi sugar - making it both aromatic and flavorful. It will benefit with aging up to two years. VINTAGE DATED.

bottle - Pours mostly clear orange and smells of malt, coriander, fruit, and some alcohol. The flavor is sweet and fruity with a hint of spice. It’s medium to full bodied and enjoyable. As I happen to like tripels and many other so-called big beers, I applaud Clipper City’s continued big beer, small batch efforts.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a white head and a golden body. Aroma of belgian yeast, fruit, spice, coriander. Taste is dry at first, but has a lingering sweetness that is out of place in a tripel. Biscuity. Fizzy.

Bottle at the 10th Richmond RateBeer Gathering on 01/16/2010. Clear golden body with a small creamy white head. Big spice and pale malt aroma with a touch of astringency. Sweet malty flavor, some toastiness with lots of spice and sugary caramel. Medium full body with moderately low carbonation.

Bomber from Wine Specialist. Pours orange gold with a two finger off-white head. Interesting aroma of citrus and spicey malt, arguably a hint of funk. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is banana, yeast, kandi, citrus, herb, and still perhaps a bit of funk. Finish is a little bubble gum. But dry. And yeasty. It drinks all too well. Get it if you can.

Bottle from Secret Santa. Orange blonde color. Orange, mango and grass and yeast in the aroma. Full bodied. Orange, poire Williams, mango and some yeasty notes in the flavor. Malty sweet, the alcohol is well hidden. Fairly well made fruity tripel, that did its job.

Bomber pours clear copper with white head. The aroma is very Belgian-y with coriander, yeasty spices, slick smelling sweetness, apples, pears and a touch of grains. The taste is too sweet with Belgian-y sweetness and thick slick body bringing up firm notes of pears, apples, floral hops, yeasty spices, coriander, cloves and some bubble gum. It ends with sweet banana and bubble gum sliding into the after taste.

This brew pours a lustrous orange color with a medium and frothy off-white head that diminishes to a thin sheet. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, doughy malt and spices. Medium body with flavors of bready malt, yeast, and spiced hops. Some floral qualities as well. The finish is lemon and candy sweetness with a lingering yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

Draft at Galaxy Hut in Alexandria. Pours a deep rich orange color. Aroma is rich Belgian spices with a nice hop aroma. Flavor is dried fruits, spices, with a touch of Belgian spices. A pretty fantastic beer, but beware, it’s 10%.
