11/VII/2012 - 75cl bottle from De Bierloods / Zytholoog (Adegem) @ home - BB: III/2012 (2012-712)
Clear pale blond beer, big fizzy white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very grassy and herbal first, some marijuana upon opening the bottle, pale malt, little sourish, bit chemical, touch of paint. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: little citrus, orange peel, bit herbal, malty, little sugary, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: sweet, sugary, some citrus, little bitter, sour touch, malts. Not very exciting.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours golden with tiny impurities and a small white head. Medium body, sweet fruit and spices but heavy, heavy on the phenols. Ends dry. Please use another yeast and control your fermentation better. 251111

Bottle @ Ulfborg Winter Tasting Part ? (The Late) , 2011. Pours cloudy golden with a frothy white head. Spices, yeast, sweet malts and orange fruit. Full bodied. A little warmth. Quite phenolic and a little ugly!

Bottle, 75cl. A clear one, golden in color and with a minimal white head. Weak, cellary nose with fruityness and yeast notes. Some higher alcohol in the flavor, else it’s fruity with caramel maltyness tending towards butterscotch. Medium body, quite dry. Pleasant bitterness in the end. Overall, not my favorite in any way, 111125

Small, dense rim over fully hazy orange-yellow beer. Nose has 2 distinct features: one fresh, herbal, and another that is more like something rotting, sulphury and solvent-filled. Not what one is entitled to expect. Bitterish, chicory-like flavour; vegetable bitter, and sweetless caramel. Lots of yeastproducts, tasting unfinished. Moreover, one suspects the spices to be needed to cover off-flavours. Fresh, spritzy MF. Alcoholwarming backthroat. The first Brootcoorens brews made me sit up and pay attention. Since then, however, they’ve gone down the slope, and I see little hope on improvement, alas.
