Pours a clear red-brown colour with a mostly lasting, beige head. The aroma is malty, light roasted malt, chocolate and a hint of fruit. A moderately sweet malty taste, sweet dark roasted malts, chocolate and light liquorice flavours with a light roasted bitterness and a smooth mouthfeel.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford – at 4.3%. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small cream head and good lacing. Malts to the fore in the aroma, plus some hints of plums. In the mouth it is bittersweet with a creamy texture, and malts immediately apparent. Flavour has dark fruits with traces of raspberries, bread rolls and nuts. Finish is fruity and slightly dry. It’s reasonable – or even a bit better than that !

Dark color with a thick beige head. Roasted aroma with a fine intensity. Pleasant fruity flavor with some roasted and coffee notes. A bit flat. It would have been very nice at 5% and a bit higher carbonation.
