Can from the brewery. It pours hazy / murky deep brown with a decent yellow - tan head. The aroma is sweet, perfumed orange, Irn - Bru, dried fruits, fruit cake, brown bread, toffee, caramel, wood, fudge and caramac. The taste is dry, some decent bitterness, wood, piney resin, sappy, tangy orange citrus, Irn Bru, toothy, then caramel, toffee, fudge, brown bread, fruit cake, nip of spice, leather, light tannin, brown sugar, figgy pudding and a kick of booze with a drying, warming finish. Fulsome body and fine, prickly carbonation. Fun stuff. Good American style hoppy barleywine. Not a looker though!
