Can from Hopt. Aroma is malt, caramel, resinous hop, leaves, pine resin, stewed fruits, citrus, some marmalade and toffee. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Nice bittersweet malt & (resinous) hop combo.

Can picked up in Edinburgh. It pours dark red with a medium foamy beige head. The aroma is resinous, sticky, wood, toasted sesame seeds, bit of red fruits, Victoria sponge and jammy berry. The taste is initially dry, bitter - sweet, resinous, wood, peppery spice, leather, varnish, kick of booze and bit of dark fruits, including plum with a spicy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting combo of flavours. Fun.

Can from Cork & Cask. Clear ruby body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of berries, plum and dried leaves. Flavour of dried fruit, bread and tea. Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. A clean, interesting beer that’s difficult to categorise into one style. I really enjoyed this.
