Hiver was born out of an admiration for London’s urban beekeepers and a passion for craft beer. We use urban and rural honey to create an all-British blonde beer that’s long matured and unpasteurised. We tone down the hops and support the natural honey flavours with a speciality organic malt. At a tasting, smallish bubbly head, quite dark clear yellow color, honey, candy and some very ripe fruitiness, honey and watermelon flavor, Not good and not too appealing.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Clear golden. Honey, cereals, a bit vegetal, sweetish, cucumber, light-bodied. Really not my thing.

Appearance- amber and clear, a big beige head which quickly settles. Aroma- honey, malt, cereal malt, hop hints, more honey, caramel. Taste- malty, sugary raisin, honey, caramel malt, hint of toffee, sweet finish, trace of bitter hops in the background.

[ As Hiver The Honey Beer ].Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, honey, nectar, flowers. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, honey, nectar, flowers. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20180928] 5-3-5-3-11

Bottle. Sweetish ale. Some honey though not that significant. Light spiciness. I drank better honey beers, is because London bees do crap job? All respect to them anyway.

Side by side tasting of this and it's sister 'Hiver The Honey Ale' at home on 11th May 2018. Just me playing, poured into old 'Home Ales' half-pint tankards. Clear light golden body, white topping. Definite honey aroma and taste, very little hop bitterness, some malty sweetness in with honey flavour. Actually quiet nice!

Kwg at Rose and Thistle, Frimley Green. Low key honey aroma. Light gold. Scant white head. Imediate honey sweetness followed by a bitter core. Light bodied. Sticky. Fizzy carbonation. Low key astringent finish. More character than I expected, a.decent enough bitter edge so the honey is not overdone.

Keg at the brewery tap, Bermondsey, 17/06/17. Clear golden yellow with a decent off white head. Nose is pale malts, light bread dough, grains, faint florals, honey evident, light citric peel. Taste comprises toasted grains, honey drizzle, Golden Grahams, light spice balance, faint citric rinds, floral bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Does what it says on the tin, not really for me but fine.
