Bottle at Fin & Loz’s tasting with Jan, Charlotte, Craig, Stella & kids consumed 21.10.11 This bottle purchased at My Favourite Beers shop, Cheltenham May 2011 Pours dark amber with a medium carbonatiomn, the head is light beige. This is soft in the mouth, though there is some alcohol showing which is a little too up front and showy for my liking. Quite dry throughout with caramel and dark fruits also making there mark. Bottled. A dark amber beer with a thin lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and spices. The flavor is sweet with malt, caramel, bread, and a touch of cardemomme, leading to a dry finish.

Cask handpull The Drum JDW Leyton. Deep amber with slight haze. Thin lasting beige head. Rich sweet malty fruity aroma. Fullish in mouth with some dryness and lots of rich malty fruit. Pleasant to have a Bath beer without diacetyl. Tasty ESB. Reminds me of what Abbot Ale used to taste like. Tasty and full.

Cask-conditioned at the Bridge inn, Bristol 31/03/10. This was the first brew of Rare Hare for three years. Deep amber in colour with a slight white head. Sweet, toffee and earthy malt aroma with some floral hop. Flavour was along similar lines, with caramel malts, red fruits, and a spicy hop kick before a lingering bitter finish. An enjoyable beer that should be brewed far more often.
