Cask at Brighton Beer Dispensary. It pours deep ruby-brown with a decent off-white head. The nose is rich roast, earthy, varnish, jammy berry, fruit cake and grapefruit. The taste is rather bitter upfront, rich roast, earth, toast, piney varnish, grapefruit, soapy citrus, cocoa and mild astringency with a lingering dry, toasty finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Punchy and pretty flavoursome for abv. Nice one.
