Cask at Cask. It pours clear dark amber with a small beige head. The nose is sweet, woody, spicy, earth, warming, autumnal spice and some dried fruits. The taste is bitter-sweet, woody, resin, booze, dried fruits, raisin, warming, light spice, drying leather, fruit cake and brown sugar with a dry finish. Medium+ body and soft carbonation. Nice bitter-sweet balance. Punchy stuff. A lot better than I was expecting from a cask dubbel.

Cask, gravity dispense at Oxford Beer Festival, Oxford Town Hall, Thursday 16th October 2014 me and Loz in the company of Grace & Ian Not my favourite of the evening by any stretch however I think I liked it a little better than Glen. Thick in mouth with a little alcohol burn which is one of the mark downs of this beer. Creamy mouthfeel, warming, mmhh.. Its a bit of a one trick pony and certainly a big bombastic beer and whilst it seems a little confused as to its identity it does have a continental feel but in a rough and ready style.
