Bottle from Deeside Drinks Emporium. It pours opaque black with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, dark chocolate, fudge, toffee and dark fruits. The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, then the tang kicks in......sour berry, balsamic vinegar and tart lemon with a very dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. The sourness kills it... Shame it’s infected as the other version was very good indeed.

Bottle at the first night of Jack’s Farewell Tour in London - big thanks to Paul. Pours oily brown-black with a slight, filmy brown head. Nose has some dark bread, perhaps some licorice, tangy dark chocolate, a bit of sweat. Light sweet flavor, some bitter earth, oily and bitter cocoa, some tangy black raspberry. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Oily chocolate to finish, some mild tang, earth, baking cocoa. There may be the beginning of a good infection here but it hasn’t fully taken hold. Still, the overall character is still a bit lackluster.
