Cask at 2011 Deeside Beer Festival. It pours dark murky brown with reddish highlights, a thin tan head and almost no carbonation. The nose is full of wood, varnish, sweet caramel, brown sugar and dark fruit. The taste is wood, varnish, blueberry, blackberry, currant, caramel and charcoal, which finishes on a light bitter-wood note. Has a bit of Flemish brown think going on. An enjoyable and drinkable scotch ale.
