Bottle 500ml. @ chriso [ oh6gdx birthday bash tasting ].Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, leather, dark fruit. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, acidic black berry (sortbær). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111203]

Bottled@my birthdaybash@Chriso. Very deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is mild roasted malts, some ashes, toast and mild raisiny and toffeeish notes. Flavour is roasted malts along with some slight nutty and ashy notes. Pleasant balance.

Bottled at oh6gdx’s birthday bash at chriso’s. Very dark brown, small head. chocolaty nose. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and bread. Low bitterness. Deep and pleasant.

Bottle at Pat’s birthday chriso tasting, London. Pours dark brown with a small, off-white foam head. Dirt and light aroma, some modest roast. Dark malts, slightly tangy, some burnt sugar. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dark malt finish, faintly tangy roast. OK. Some brownie notes. (December 2011, score 3.2)

Cask at GBBF 2016, Day 1 - London. Pours clear brown with a frothy, off-white head. Not bad, lightly woody, with some chocolate, lightly burnt meat, raisins. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, some toasty bread. Pretty OK on the whole. (August 2016, score: 3.4)

Bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Dark brown with a hint of red and no head. Sweet caramel and dark fruit aroma with some slightly vinous alcohol evident. Black coffee and plain chocolate flavours with an ashy, dry finish.Very good.

3rd February 2011
Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Loads of beers shared with ChrisO and Harrisoni - Cheers! Hazy very dark broen beer, almost opaque. Residual tan head. Light dry palate. Mild dark malt with traces of chocolate and smoke. Semi dry finish. Okay.

Cask at St Albans BF 2010. Black, dark brown edges. Thin beige head. Some dark malt on aroma. No real hop as you’d expect, some dark fruits. Decent strong dark fruity mild.

Bottle from The Real Ale Shop, Branthill Farm, Norfolk. Consumed Stiffkey Campsite 17-06-09 Pours dark chestnut brown with a light beige head. Some light chocolate on nose, soft malts, in fact it’s a really good aroma. Taste is light cocoa, some fig juice, bit of dark fruits, dusty hops. Its a tasty stong mild. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov14 3.7
